What Could Cause Blood In Urine In Spite Of Not Finding Any Issues Through A Cystoscopy And CT Scan?

I had noticed blood in urine and saw the urologist. A cystoscopy was performed (mid-December) and a CT scan was done. No issues were discovered. The urologist said that there is no obvious reason. He offered to do a TURP. But I have already had TURP performed twice. The prostate size was determined at about 50+/- g (if I remember correctly). Recently, I again noticed blood in urine. I am wondering what should I do. Should the previous results be evaluated by another urologist for second opinion?

Hello,

As per your clinical history is concerned please follow like this:

1) Do a physical examination by your urologist and do [PSA] and ultrasound to know present status because as per your prostate scan report your size is little large.
2) Do take your medication as usual and discuss about [robot-assisted prostatectomy] as you have already done [TURP] two times before.

Do follow few lifestyle modifications like this:

1) Try to limit beverages in the evening. Don't drink anything for an hour or two before bedtime to avoid middle-of-the-night trips to the toilet.
2) Try to limit caffeine and alcohol. They can increase urine production, irritate the bladder and worsen symptoms.
3) Limit decongestants or antihistamines. These drugs tighten the band of muscles around the urethra that control urine flow, making it harder to urinate.
4) Go when you first feel the urge. Waiting too long might overstretch the bladder muscle and cause damage. Schedule bathroom visits. Try to urinate at regular times such as every four to six hours during the day.
5) Try to follow a healthy diet. Obesity is associated with enlarged prostate.
6) Stay active, inactivity contributes to urine retention. Even a small amount of exercise can help reduce urinary problems caused by an enlarged prostate.
7) Keep warm, colder temperatures can cause urine retention and increase the urgency to urinate.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
