Brown blood with cramps before and after periods is commonly old blood. This old blood can also come out in clots causing cramps. However, it can also be indicative of early miscarriage. If you are sexually active and you are had unprotected sex, did not take contraceptives of any kind then it may be a sign of early miscarriage.
Get clinically examined by a gynecologist and get per vaginal examination done. You will be managed & treated accordingly. Maintain hygiene. Take home food with iron, minerals and protein.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
