What Could Cause Burning Lumps Underneath The Skin After A Sun Burn?
I have been tanning in a tanning bed and today after I went I noticed this burning right below my tailbone, right about where my buttcrack starts. When I feel it I can feel 2 small lumps underneath the skin, and when I look at it, the area is redish/purplish.. It is extremely itchy, tender, and burns to lay back on it. What could this be?
Infectious Diseases Specialist, Dr. Praveen G's Response
Hello, It is my pleasure to help you, The reddish area at the tailbone is may be due to infection of the skin covering that area. This area is more prone for the swellings only because of excess of hairs, excessive sweating and sitting for prolonged period of time. As this area is near the anus it is more prone for infection. I would suggest 1.Hot compresses 2.Keep that area dry 3.Avoid prolong Sitting 4. Oral Antibiotic 5. Moisturizing Cream This is going to help you.If it is not improving you need to undergo examination to know what exactly you are having. Hope you understand the condition. Thank you.
