What Could Cause Child To Faint?

My 12 yr old fainted at the movie theater this afternoon. It was a pretty bloody scene when she felt sick. I walked her out of the theater and she said she couldn't see and then collapsed in my arms. I tried to carry her to get help, but when she was completely out, I had to lie her down. When she heard me call for 911, she jumped up and looked better. Once she cooled down and got her bearing, she seemed ok. She has been lying around for hours now. Should I have taken her to the doctor?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi. It looks like a acute reaction.it may be due to the horror and bloody scene in the movie. Also as you are saying that the child is lying down for several hours, we should look for low sugar as a cause also. As this is the first episode I would suggest you to get the basic investigation done ( electrolyte, sugar) and assessment by a doctor
See though the child looks asymptomatic but it is always better to rule out any underlying illness.
