What Could Cause Clear Orange Vaginal Discharge While On Amoxicillin?

Hi, over the last week I ve noticed a change in my vaginal discharge. It has thinned a lot and turned an orange colour, the amount has also increased severely. My vagina has also been itchy to the point of soreness.Any idea what this could be?I m currently on Amoxicillin to treat my chest infection, will this clear up my vaginal issues too? Many thanks, XXXX

Hi,

The amoxycillin for chest infection is not that effective for control of orange vaginal discharge which can be due to trichomonas or other fungal infection. In my clinic, I do recommend addition of metronidazole with fluconazole to cover the vaginal discharge, of course with advise of safe sex practice if active.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
