What Could Cause Constipation And Intense Pain At The Anus Postpartum?
Good day. I gave birth to my first child, since then I struggled with constipation. Strained a lot doing bowel movements then 5 weeks postpartum, I saw bright red blood on the toilet paper after wiping, and also in stool. I felt intense pains in the anus and found a balloon like swelling. I went for my 6 weeks postpartum check up and confirmed it s a hemorrhoid and adviced on sitting in warm water. It s been a week now the hemorrhoid is not going away. And I seem to be having diarrhea now

Hi,
Excessive straining for stools causes stress to rectal veins, these get inflamed to cause hemorrhoids. Distort modifications with excessive fiber intake, plenty of water drinking improve constipation. Any infection or infestation of bowels need to be specifically treated to treat the hemorrhoids. Sitting in hot water bath can reduce pain to some extent and heal accompanying anal fissure. If hemorrhoids do not heal within 8-10 days of the treatment surgical removal may be needed. Please consult an anorectal surgeon.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
