What Could Cause Coughing Up Stringing Mucus?

I had been coughing up stringing mucus for months before i caught an cold in august...The cold went away within a month and has not came back..Now the stringy mucus have double in my thorat..I flies out my throat wen i cough at times..Could this be hiv or a smoking cause.

Chronic cough could be from....
-Allergy
-Smoking
-Chronic sinusitis
-repeated viral infection etc....

Here your detail examination needed. ...
Work up done with....
-Auscultation
-CBC
-chest x ray for bronchitis
-PNS x ray for sinusitis etc..

According to cause further treatment given...

For mucus or postnasal drip mucolytic drug can be given... Like ambroxol syrup or lozenges....

If bacteria cause than suitable antibiotic prescribed..

Avoid smoking... As smoking is major cause for bronchitis....

Take one tap turmeric powder with milk daily

Take care
