What Could Cause Crying In An Autistic 14-year-old Who Is Being Treated For Constipation?

My autistic daughter is nonverbal and 14 years old. She has seen a doctor about being constipated and they prescribed her polyeth glyc 3350 which we have been using for a couple weeks now. After she eats dinner she sometimes cries and I don t know why. My question is, could she be in pain because of eating?

Hi,

Severe constipation can cause cramps and severe pain.

It is better to consult a gastroenterologist and get a CT scan done to look for any possible bowel related problems.

If she is still constipated, you can try enema.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
