What Could Cause Dark Spot On Inner Lips?
I am a 56 yo female, married,no dependents. Occasional alcohol use, ex smoker. Smoked 3/4 pack per day for 22 years,quit in 1999. A few weeks ago I noticed a flat dark spot on my inner upper lip. Now it s raised,hard,tender and about 3 mm. Can you tell me some possibilities of what it might be? Thank you. Delsie

Could be totally normal. It's difficult to comment without examination. Warts are pretty common and look like that. In theory a cancer could be described like that. They are extraordinarily rare (and warts, freckles, other normal skin issues, are far more common).
