What Could Cause Discolouration Of Nails?

I was wearing nail tips with gel on my two thumb nails because the nails had ripped, and last week, I noticed a dark color underneath the one on my left hand. I took the nail tip off and there was a small greenish/yellow circleish place about the size of 1/4 an eraser head. I took the nail tip off, and the color has faded some. This morning, I noticed the same discoloration under my other thumbnail, and it is roughly the same size--1/4 the size of an eraser head, and dark brown/green in color. There is a bit of discomfort if I push on that area, but not much. I did have to hold the nail tips on pretty hard to get them to adhere, so I m working if I bruised my nailbed or if I have a fungus.

After reading your query I an get that you are quite stressed regarding your nail problem.

There can be local cause of the nail discoloration as well certain systemic causes of it. It requires close physical examination of the area to rule out the to the point cause of the nail discoloration.

I suggest you to met a dermatologist near you to get most close diagnosis and accordingly the best treatment for the same.
