What Could Cause Elevation In Vitamin D Levels?

i m looking for information about elevated vitamin d levels. I just received my blood test results and my vitamin d level is 86. doctors office was closed by the time i returned the call and it s a holiday weekend. I do not take any vitamins or supplements . I haven t been able to find anything about what health issues could cause my vitamin d level to be high.

Hello Sir,
There are many variables to an answer to your question. I can tell you some of the possible reasons for this elevation. Medications can cause an increase. Then, consider:
kidney disease
liver disease
tuberculosis
hyperparathyroidism
sarcoidosis
histoplasmosis
Your doctor will have to run some more tests. In the meantime avoid all salmon and fish, fortified milk products, supplements with calcium or vitamin D, of course.
