Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 57 female post menapausal. I am cold when I sleep at night. Even with extra blankets, I feel cold. Then when I wake up to go to the bathroom, I'm sweating so I'm cold all over again. I'm most always "chilly" and wear many more layers of clothing than most people. I even wrap up in a "throw" when watching TV at night. Good health otherwise. A little over weight (20#'s). Donated a Kidney two years ago... But I'm cold. I even have a heater under my desk rite now.
Thank you for posting your concern to HCM. I read it very carefully.
Hot or cold tolerance can be something that varies from person to person. If this is something you have always had, then I would not be worried about it.
If it is something new, and I was your caring doctor, I would recommend a Thyroid check up, as the gland production problems can cause cold intolerance.
I also, would be sure that your body temperature is not high, and ask about other sign and symptoms that may come along with it.
Hope that helps, Regards, Dr. Klarida
