What Could Cause Fishy Odor From Vagina After Leaving In Tampons For Little Longer?
I have a fishy odour from my vagina after reading on th Internet about tampons causing it I think this Is why it does! Iv never experienced this problem before and came off my period 4 days ago, I do recall leaving a few tampons in a little long than usual and I used them constantly, how do I get rid of it without going to see my GP?
Fishy odor is seen in bacterial vaginosis and leaving the tampon inside for long hours is a reason for it. Despite having maximum chances of you having Bacterial vaginosis, you need to show yourself to your GP or gynecologist to confirm that there are no other infections present which might need medication. Visit your GP for prescription.
Apart from that you need to change tampons frequently and better avoid tampons till you get rid of this possible infection. Avoid using scented soap to wash that area, use cotton unders which is not tight. Wash them and fry them in sunlight. Take probiotics. Wash vagina with mild unscented soap once a day.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
