What Could Cause Foul Smelling Urine That Continues Even During Menstruation?
Afternoon I have a problem, lately when I pee every morning the urine smells really bad strong, it aches actually its been days now at first I thought I might be pregnant but once I got my period the smell continued, am taking contraceptives pills its been years and this it the first time this happens Am worried it could be serious
Foul smelling urine is commonly indicative of UTI, bladder or kidney infection, yeast infection, hormonal changes in women, etc. Certain medications, supplements, vitamins also cause foul smelling urine. Keep well hydrated, dehydration causes strong bad smell when you urinate. Taking more of onions, garlic, sprouts, cumin, coffee, fish, etc. in the diet changes urine odor.
You are suggested to get clinically examined and get done urinalysis (C/S and R/E). Your treatment will depend on the diagnosis made and the reports of the urinalysis. You may be asked to get done required blood tests and imaging tests. A course of antibiotics will be a part of the treatment. In case any underlying disease is detected then it will also be treated.
