What Could Cause Frequent Vomiting And Difficulty In Swallowing?

Hello Dr, I have been vomitting violently all week to the point that I think I have may have something wrong with my esophogus as I cant swallow properly and have not been to eat any thing for a week. I am dehyderated and very weak. Unfortunately, I do not currently have insuance or a Dr. Thank you Denice

Thank for your query.
Noted the history of violent vomiting all week to the point that you think that there is something wrong with the esophagus as you can not swallow properly, and not ate anything for a week, getting you dehydrated and weak, unfortunately do not have any insurance...
Vomiting for a weeks is definitely a point of concern.
The possible causes can be:
Hepatitis.
Gastritis, esophagitis, anything connected to acidity.
Central causes related to brain and so.
I would advise you the following:
Consult the walk-in-clinic as you do not have insurance. You will get a clinical evaluation, examination and investigations to get a probable cause and get a prescription based treatment such as PPI like Omeprazole, Domperidone and antacid.
If this gives you the relief then there is nothing to worry about.
If no relief, further investigations like upper GI Endoscopy may be needed .
CT scan of the brain if intracranial hypertension is suspected.
