What Could Cause Gagging While Laid Down, Feeling Of Air Supply Cut Off, Blocked Nose?

When I lay down I cannot talk as gag on my own tonsils. Also wake up at night feeling my air supply has been cut off. Mouth sometimes filled with air, which I think is due to a blocked nose not allowing me to exhale. Now have so many pillows propping me up and always sleep on my side. I dread going to bed now.

HELLO thanks for the quiery. im an oral diagnostician, i saw your discomfort on sleeping, 1) it could be due to severe cold--so take medication for the cold and also do steam inhalation--it does wonders for a blocked nose 2) elongated uvula--hence do salt water gargle,if these dont fit your history 3) you could be suffering from sleep apnoe where u feel temporary air supply cut off.. so kindly consult if medicines and home remedies like steam inhalation, salt water gargling, pillow propping doesnt help, then plz consult a ent surgeon or a sleep clinic,,, hope this helps.
