Hello,
Growing dark patches spreading all over the face could be indicative of increased progesterone,
hormone replacement therapy, genetic problem, direct uncontrolled sunlight exposure,
hyperpigmentation, family history of melasma, etc. Get your skin examined by a
dermatologist. Get all required blood tests done to detect genetic problem, hereditary, any medical condition that could be causing this.
Your treatment will depend on the cause, the cause will be treated. In the meantime, avoid undue direct exposure to sunlight. If fungal or bacterial infection is detected, it will be treated. In case the symptoms are due to hormonal problems, your treating doctor will treat that first.
If needed, biopsy will be done to rule out any chance of malignancy. You will be treated with ointments, gels & medicines. It may take some time. If it does not work your treating dermatologist will suggest you
laser treatment, chemical peel,
dermabrasion, etc.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
