What Could Cause High BP?

Hi !! My wife has 32 weeks of pregnancy.Till now she does not have blood pressure problem. But for last three four days suddenly her blood pressure shoot up (upto 190/110). But her urine test is normal.

The only change i found is change in iron pills during this time. Earlier she was taking FID and that too only during nights but for last few days doctor has changed it to orofer xt (100 mg) and that too twice a day. Is there any chance the blood pressure has shoot up due to this ??

Thanks for using healthcaremagic.I understand your concern.
Brief answer: Actual causes still not clear but risk factors like genetic predisposition, increased age, multiple fetal pregnancy, poor placentation etc
According to me,the rise in blood pressure is not due to the altered drug, rather pregnancy induced hypertension(Gestational hypertension) which occurs commonly after 24 weeks in some women who are predisposing.I would advise you to consult and follow up with the obstetrician, who can handle this with safer anti-hypertensive drugs, some tests for safe confinement.Hope this information helps you.If any further questions, wish to answer you.Take care.
