What Could Cause Intermittent Pain In The Inner Ear And A Mild Pain In The Neck?
I m having intermittent sharp pain in what feels like my inner ear. I can make it happen by tilting my head, but it does happen without any movement. I have been having mild pain in my neck off and on for a couple of weeks. I just thought I was sleeping with my head in an awkward position.
Pain in ear might be caused by a middle ear infection. I suggest you consult an otolaryngologist because middle ear infections can only be diagnosed by otoscopy examination.
This examination will detect any signs of infection as if there is fluid behind the eardrum or eardrum inflammation.
Your neck pain might be related to the ear infection, because the pain may radiate, or it might be due to a bad sleeping position of your head.
The physical examination of the neck and the ear examination can put the right diagnosis.
Meanwhile, you can use painkiller drugs (Ibuprofen three times a day for some days) for pain and inflammation relief.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
