What Could Cause Itchy, Subcutaneous Lump On Stomach Along With Angiomas?
Hi. I work in the animal field and two months ago developed a particular spot on my stomach that is very itchy but had no real appearance of anything being there. Over the last two months the constant itching has become annoying and it now feels as if there is a small subcutaneous lump at the site of itching. The site is now constantly red although this my be from self trauma but in the last weeks I have also notice what appear to be angiomas sprouting in the surrounding areas? Any ideas?
Hi, such an itchy erythematous patch turning into an indurated plaque with some pink papules in the surrounding area is due to contact dermatitis. You may have not noticed what caused it in the first place but it can be anything related to your workplace or clothing like metal studs or buckle of your belt. I suggest you apply topical potent steroid like clobetasone propionate twice daily and take an oral antihistamine like cetrizine daily for 2 weeks. Hope that answers your querry.
