Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Could Cause Light Red Patches Of Discoloration On The Scrotum In An 80-year-old?
I am an 80 year old black male. For the past 2 months or so I have observed pink to light red patches of discoloration on my scrotum. They have now developed into a large patch from towards the base of my penis down the right side of my scrotum. There are also other spots lower down the sack. What can this be?
As per my clinical experience, the multiple red patches on scrotum indicate possible viral, bacterial or fungal infection of the scrotal skin most likely.
However, a detailed clinical examination with types of patches, depth, configuration and associated findings are mandatory to confirm the particular clinical scenario.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Purva Patel,
