What Could Cause Loss Of Feeling In A Hand, Blood Pooling Around Thumb While Diagnosed With Cancer In Abdomen?

A friend of mine has developed no feeling in her one hand and it extends up her arm to near the elbow. It looks like some blood is pooling along the thumb. She has cancer in her abdomen and will be starting treatment again tomorrow. The ends of the other fingers on her right hand are just starting to do the same thing.
