What Could Cause Low BP, Nausea, Dizziness, Black Stool, Occasional Constipation And Hot Flashes In A 69-year-old?
My mother is having some problems. She is 69 yrs old. She has low BP 120/55 dizzy/light headed faintish nausea nose bleeds black stool occasional constipation runs into walls off balance tired/fatigue feverish gets extremely weak and Shakey hot flashes sometimes. Can you help me understand what she could be suffering from?
Nasal bleeding and black stool with occasional constipation are suggestive of possible gastrointestinal bleeding. Should run fecal occult blood test. Dizzy/light headed faintness are due to low blood pressure (BP) most probably due to anemia-induced by bleeding.
Should run complete blood count to rule out anemia. Colonoscopy and abdominal ultrasound should be run to determine the right diagnosis.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Albana Sejdini,
