What Could Cause Lower Left Abdominal Pain And Weight Gain A Few Months After Non-penetrative Sexual Intercourse?
Hi Doctor. It s been approximately about 20 weeks ever since my last sexual encounter. No vaginal-penile penetration and was done through dry sex/outercourse (each person had 2 layers on) but some ejaculate leaked through the condom. With that said, I ve had 4 periods after missing it on February. Complete timeline is as follows: * Sexual Exposure - Feb 25 * 1st Period - Mar 3-16 * Negative HPT test - Mar 23, 27 * 2nd Period - Apr 3-11 * Negative HPT test - Apr 4 * Negative Qualitative Serum HCG Test - Apr 17 * 3rd Period - May 18-24 *4th Period - Jun 28-Jul 7 Is it safe to say that I m not pregnant? Just getting concerned because I ve been gaining weight lately and my stomach has been getting big. I also experienced some weird lower left abdominal pains a few days ago but it has gone away now. Not pregnant? No need for retesting? I hope to receive a detailed answer since doctors I ve spoken to have been very vague about the subject matter. Thank you so much! Just got worried because some women said that they experience monthly bleeding despite being pregnant. *Additional information: I am a 21 year old, female

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Your complaints of lower left abdominal pain &weight gain are not significantly related with the nonpenetrative sex you had. If the pain still continues. You should get examined by a physician to fond the cause &get treatment. Weight gain can be due to polycystic ovaries or thyroid problem which again needs consultation of an endocrinologist.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
