What Could Cause Numbness And Tingling Sensation In The Left Leg And Swelling In The Ankle And Feet In A 75-year-old?

My husband, age 75 complained of numbness and tingling in left leg. His leg, ankle, and foot appears to be swollen and he has restricted movement in his foot. He is generally healthy and active. He is only on one medication which is synthroid. What could be causing this?

Hello,

Consult a neurologist and get evaluated.

We have to rule out possible neurological causes like peripheral neuropathy.

As a first line management you can take drugs like neurobion for symptomatic relief.

Consult a physician and get evaluated.

We have to rule out possible causes like renal dysfunction and CCF.

Uncontrolled hypertension can also cause similar symptoms.
