Hi Nitin,

I can understand your concern. It seems that you might have developed tonsillitis, infection of the tonsils, which is mild in nature so you are having pain while swallowing saliva.

Most commonly, the tonsillitis could be bacterial or allergic in nature. Thus, you should start taking Azithromycin 500 mg (Azee 500) once a day for 3 days. In addition, you should take Levocetrizine 5 mg (Levocet) once a day for 5 days. If you are in constant pain, you can take Acetaminophen 500 mg or Ibuprofen 400 mg when needed. Doing warm salt water gargles will also help.

If the pain does not go in 3 days, then you should see a physician or ENT specialist for the examination of your throat and further investigations.

I hope this answer helps you well. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
