What Could Cause Pain From Osteoarthritis Despite Taking Tramadol?
I am taking Tramadol oral right now and have been for over 1 year. I use it (especially in the morning) to get going . I have Ostea Arthritis. Right now I am aching a lot ----- even when I take the Tramadol. Has my tolerance raised and I will continue to need more and more ???? Also I have some thinning of my hair ---- any connection to Tramadol ????
Tramadol is a drug, belonging to opioid class and it can lead to addiction and tolerance if used for a long period of time. So, it is true that you need higher doses now and may lead to withdrawal syndrome if you stop it cold turkey.
For This reason, I recommend consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam and discussing on the possibility of switching to another drug like Gabapentin or Amitriptyline for chronic pain management.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
