What Could Cause Pain In Lower Abdomen, Bloating And Watery Bowels?

I have some questions about my wife. She's in her early 60's. For the last two days she has been experiencing pain and discomfort in her lower abdomen. She is lactose intolerant. The discomfort usually starts after she has eaten. She describes it as feeling bloated like she has gas. She has bowel movements and nothing seems out of the ordinary there but a time or two they were watery. This started after she started taking an acidohilus supplement. She is also running a fever of 102. Should I be taking her to Emergency?

Hello,

Symptoms of abdomen pain and bloating with fever is indicative of intestinal infection, abdomen pain could be due to inflammatory condition of intestine (Colitis) it can be said colitis, the most common organism is protozoa.

If I would be doctor of this case then I would try to treat this case with tablet Metronidazole twice in day for five days, for the fever, Paracetamol can be tried.

It may not be emergency condition and can be tried with suggested medicine. If fail to responds within two days, then you she can be taken for consultation.
