What Could Cause Painful, Swollen Fleshy Lump In Tonsil?

My left tonsil is swollen and hurts. There is a small fleshy lump there very tiny as well. I woke up with it pain under left jawbone is crazy. Is more painful during the night. Np said no strep and that it was to early to test for mono. This pain is driving me crazy i just cant take it .

please tell me your age.any tobacco usage history. i think you should visit an ENT specialist. for the time being take an antibiotic and ibugesic plus. do betadine gargles
