What Could Cause Pus Associated Vaginal Bleed?

My wife gave birth about three months ago although she went through labour by been induced before giving birth however l have noticed that she bleeds and sometimes have slight pus come out of her vagina please is it normal or there seems to be a problem?

Hello,

Light to moderate vaginal bleeding may persist for 2-4 weeks in most cases after delivery. If it persists even for 3 months and pus discharge needs to be evaluated. It may be caused by uterus that doesn't contract properly, possibly as a result of fragments of the placenta or the amniotic sac that remain in the uterus after birth, an infection, or both. I suggest you to get one pelvic ultrasound scan to check for intrauterine remnants or other pathology.
