What Could Cause Severe Itching For Someone Who Is A Liver Transplant Patient?
Hello! I m a liver transplant patient. Recently my eyes have gotten jaundice again because. Of mid medicating. I recently had a hearth cath (Tuesday) and was started back on a higher dose of actigall than before. I am now itching (like crazy) and was wondering g if J could flush some of the meds out if that would help with itching.....
Though, itching is a rare side effect of Ursodiol and even if present, it is not dose related. Also, Ursodiol, generally, does not cause liver damage. Even if, there is some side effect due to Ursodiol, there is no way to flush out the medicines. Only stoppage of the medicine will itself result in vanishing the side effects. As, you are also having jaundice, presence of jaundice may itself cause symptoms of itching. Therefore, you are advised to see your doctor about this, who may suggest you about proper diagnosis and treatment accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
