What Could Cause Severe Partial Jaw Pain In Teenager?

severe pain Hi. My name is Tyler. I am 16 years old, 145 pounds, 5'2. Today when i came home from school i took a nap and when i woke up my jaw started to hurt. Only the right side. This is the first time this has ever happened to me. It is waking me up out of my sleep. When i looked up possible answers online it says i may have TMJ and i grind my teeth, but that is not the case because i don't grind my teeth at all. Can you please help ?

Hello:)Welcome to HCM.

You did not mention if you have infection in your teeth or gums .I advice you consult your dentist for a checkup.
TMJ pain and night grinding can cause this, but tooth infection is more common cause.
Take a course of antibiotics and analgesics to reduce the infection.

Regards.
