Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have shortness of breath and weak legs this has developed after I had a cold and seems to get worse my pulse has also increased from normal from 50's to 70's and at one time over 100 a few days ago. Is it bronchitis that will go away or should I go to the doctor?
Hello and thank you for using HCM.I carefully read your question and I understand your concern. I will try to explain and give you my opinion.
The causes of dispnea might be different. It might be a pulmonar problem, bronchitis, pneumonia bht it also might be a cardiac problem.
A viral infection sometime might effect the heart, her function, might affect pericardial layer and give pericardial effusion and this might be responsible for dispnea, tachycardia.
So, to clear all our doubt I will recommend you to have a cardiac echo to evaluate heart function, exclude pericardial effusion,a blood analyze and a thorax x ray to see pulmonar situation.
These will help to better understand what is going on and how to menage it.
Hope I was helpfull. Best regards, Dr.Ervina
