What Could Cause Some Blood In Urine And At The Genital Area After Urination?

Hello. I am a 25 yr old white female. When I arrived home from work 3 hours ago, I used the bathroom and when I went to wipe, I realized there was blood in the water and on the toilet paper. I don t have any pain whatsoever. Is this something I need to go to the ER about? The only possible reason I could think of is I took an 800 mg Motrin 2 days ago.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The blood in urine can be caused by a kidney stone or a urinary tract infection. I suggest to do a urine test and an abdominal ultrasound for further evaluation. Meanwhile,I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen for relieve.

Hope my answer was helpful. If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Regards,
