My left tragus is sore and swollen. The swelling is very visible especially when compared to the same area on my other ear. At first I believed it may be swimmer's ear, even though I haven't gone swimming recently.
I've had slight dizziness all day as well as high anxiety and shortness of breath also feel very tired and sleepy. Generally, I feel "out of it" & just "don't feel right." I haven't had a high fever.I'm unsure if I should go to the urgent care tonight or try to stick it out to see if it goes down in the next few days. I'd hate to waste the hospital's time for something that may be minor. If there's any additional suggestions you may have for me I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance...
An infected preauricular sinus is one of the most common cause of sore and swollen tragus, such a case history of repeated attacks is common.Another possibility is infection of skin of ear either fungal/bacterial.Both cases responds nicely to antibiotics,if fungal then antifungal drops.
