What Could Cause Soreness & Stinging Sensation During Urination?

Hi Doc, I am usaully very regular with my periods and I am now 5 days late. I went to see a doc and had a papsmear last Monday, I will get the results in 10 days. I have recently come off duromine, and I think I may have a UTI as I am experiencing soreness, stinging when going to the toilet. Do you think I am pregnant? Or does medication have an impact? UTI? Can that show a negative response? Please Help

hi,stinging and soreness during urination are no signs of pregnancy.to confirm the pregnancy you will have to do a urine pregnancy test which are easily available at the chemist and are highly sensitive to detect pregnancy.your symptoms are more likely that of UTI.you should take a urine routine microscopy test done .you should start taking syrup alkasol 2 tsf in 1 glass water twice a day and tab urispas twice a day for 5 days.you can start with tab nitrofurantoin 100 mg twice a day for 7 days.even in case you are pregnant the above drugs are very safe and have no side effect on the fetus.take care and all the best.
