What Could Cause Stomach Cramps And Difficulty In Swallowing?

Hello Doctor,

I hope you are doing well. I've been having some stomach and intestines problems. It all started after a section of antibiotics I had to take for a supposedly teeth infection. I took 3 per day for about 2 weeks. I must say I even got allergic reactions to these antibiotics. After that, I started having stomach cramps and pains, burning sensations in stomach, intestines and throat, I have difficulty swallowing sometimes too, I feel all those get inflamed too, I get gases, I feel bloated sometimes.

I have never before suffer of acid reflux or any of those symptoms mentioned above. So what could this be?

Hi,

If this was the history or reaction because of antibiotic so the intestine symptom is likely and it happens due to an inflammatory condition of intestine due to antibiotic hypersensitivity.
This could be the first possibility can be thought second it could be infection itself (Protozoa ) and for that Metronidazole can be tried.

But first, you have to wait for some time because if this is due to antibiotic reaction then it can be healed on its own may.
Take some days, during this time period, care needs to be taken for diet, avoid taking spicy food, Omeprazole tablet can be tried once in a day.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
