What Could Cause Sudden Clicking Sound Inside Head Followed By Severe Headache And Painful Temples During Lifting Weights?

My partner was lifting weights and heard a loud clicking sound inside his head that felt like something had burst. He was unable to continue with the activity and got an accompanying severe headache which is all over but extremely painful in his temples. The headache is getting worse

Hi
Sudden severe bursting headache especially after lifting heavy weights may be due to local muscle spasms /or some intracranial bleed due to hypertension or aneurysmal rupture .
Needs investigation like a CT SCAN head to rule out any intracranial changes .
