What Could Cause Sudden Severe Abdominal Pain And Tenderness, With Lingering Pressure Under The Left Rib?

Hi, I suddenly got severe stomach pains all over my abdomen. My whole abdomen was tender to touch. This lasted for about two hours. Most of that pain seems to of subsided. I still have pressure under the left rib. What could this be and what do you recommend I do?

Hello,

Your symptoms are indicative of GERD, IBS, IBD, gastritis, kidney stone, kidney infection, pancreatitis, splenomegaly, ruptured spleen (emergency condition). Get clinically examined by a GP, get all required blood tests and imaging tests done. In the meantime, you are advised to take antacids, or PPIs, to get rid of pain abdomen.

Get clinically examined, if obstruction is detected, you will be restricted oral intake. Obstruction is a medical emergency. Other severe underlying medical conditions that can cause symptoms are pericarditis, heart attack, pleurisy or pulmonary embolism.
