Hello,

You are advised to help your mother keep her scalp moisturized with a mild herbal moisturizer. During shower and bathing she should use medicated soap and not perfumed or chemical based body products. She should take bath regularly & change her clothes from inside out. Her clothes should be washed in hot water & dried directly under the sun.

Such symptoms can arise due to a medical condition called formication, due to which she is experiencing head lice though there are none. Stress, anxiety and certain neurological conditions can cause paresthesia. Help your mother to stay away from anxiety & stress, both physical and emotional. Give her food good for the nerves like leafy greens, fatty fish, lean protein, legumes, etc.

Get her clinically examined by a neurologist & dermatologist to rule out psoriasis, eczema, etc. The Neurologist will get her done few tests. She can take supplements after consultation with the Neurologist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
