What Could Cause The Urge To Defecate And Incomplete Bowel Movement?

Hi Dr after having a MV I notices I would see blood sometimes, I went to my DR and took (FECAL GLOBIN BY IMMUNOCHEMISTRY) and (CBC (INCLUDES DIFF/PLT), the test came back fine. And I get the urge to go poop. but nothing come out, or a just a little.( I poop daily fine, I just get the urge after I go) what is this, is there some over the counter medication I can take to take the urge away.

Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
In most cases, causes of abdominal pain and bleeding through rectum are benign and include hemorrhoids, anal fissure or rectal polyps. These are primarily treated with stool softener, diet and sitzbaths. If there is no improvement in next few weeks, then surgical management should be considered. Other causes may be more serious and include tumors or inflammatory bowel diseases and these should be ruled out with colonoscopy which must be done if there is low blood count present or rapid weight loss. you may at times need to try a laxative such as Fleet Phospho-Soda, Milk of Magnesia, or glycerin suppositories. If there wont be improvement on these measures, you should consider doing diagnostic tests such as colonoscopy, anal sphincter manometry and food allergy testing.
