What Could Cause Unexplained Pain And Cracking Of Ankle?
hi there, All of a sudden, w/out doin anything strenuous or sports of any kind i ve all of a sudden hurt my ankle. It is not swollen, however a shooting pain is in my ankle bone. It feels like if i were to crack it it wud feel better but it will all of a sudden crack itself and give me unbearable pain. I cannot put pressure on it. Then will sumwhat go away so i can lightly walk on it or short distances but then the crack will happen again...i just tried rotating it and it does hurt, kinda almost feels like it wanna pops too at times...i m so confused as to why this is happening all of a sudden :( Help? thanking you in advance for your time, Nancy
Your symptoms seem to be related to the injury of the ankle. I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain. I also suggest using cold compresses for local applications. I recommend maintaining a splint to prevent further damage.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
