Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Could Cause Warmth And Swelling In A Bruised Knee?
I fell approximately one week ago on a concrete walkway. Badly skinned my left knee (I was wearing slacks); it s still quite painful to bend my knee. Tonight I noticed that directly below the skinned area, it is swollen and warm to the touch. (Yellowish like an aging bruise; no redness) Should I be overly concerned?
It is due to local inflammation or contusion. As of now you can use analgesics/anti inflammatory combination like Aceclofenac/Seratiopeptdase for symptomatic relief.
You can also apply ice packs for faster recovery. If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
