What Could Dark Spots On Thigh Be?

I have this long odd shaped dark spot on the side of my knee/thigh. It is slightly darker than my tan skin, painless and flat. It simply looks like I tanned that section of skin a little longer than the rest, which has me puzzled what it could be. It appeared approx a month ago and hasn t changed. Any ideas?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history you are having either morphea or post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a kojic acid cream like kojivit twice daily on it.
3. Other treatment options are topical hydroquinone, chemical peeling done by dermatologist.
4. If it morphea than topical tacrolimus, oral steroids are treatment options.

It is better to consult a dermatologist for perfect diagnosis and treatment.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
