What Could Delayed Periods, Light Pink Spotting But Negative HPT Indicate?

Hi, I was a week and two days later on my period but today I started spotting light pink and a orange looking color with light cramping. I usually bleed real heavy but this time it s different. Took a home pregnancy test but it was negative. Could I be pregnant and testing to early? Please help!

Hi,
If you have always been regular with your cycles, are sexually active without any contraception, a home pregnancy test should read well by this time. You can repeat the test after a couple of days with a fresh early morning sample of urine or go for the estimation of the serum beta-hCG titres for a better and earlier clarification. You can also have a trans-vaginal sonogram to aid in the diagnosis. If pregnancy is confirmed through these means, you could be having either an implantation bleed or subchorionic bleed, which needs to be taken care of. Hope this helps.
