What Could Diarrhea With Mucus Discharge Suggest?

Hi - I had diarrhoea one evening - the next day I had no need pass any "motions". However today Ive discovered a mucus like discharge , attached to the faece ,and also a grease like discharge - it also smells.Could you tell me why ? Do I have any need for concern - this is completely unnatural and I have never experienced this before.Regards,Don
