What Could Growing, Hard, Painful Lump Behind The Ear With Hair Loss On Side Of Face Indicate?

Noticed the lump about 2 -3 weeks ago. Was about the size of a penny.. a few days later a quarter. . Then 3 days later (ish) half dollar... about 5 days later its the size of the entire ear...( located behind the ear) I also noticed slight hair loss on each side of the face in the side burn area.. lump is hard and painful.. Male..34 yrs old.

As you describe it appears to be the cyst,and may be due to some irritation in that area.
The loss of hair is a different matter,it is called the alopecia, and to be treated by the dermatologist.
I advise you to consult a surgeon for diagnosis and treatment.You may need to have excision.
