ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi

Welcome in HCM.

I understand your concern and as you said that you are feeling comparatively hardness at the tip and side of nostril though there is no pain. Here I would like to tell you that our nose is having two types of frame work - the posterior one is of bone and is hard on touch while anterior part is having cartilaginous frame work and this part is firm on touch.

Some times the cartilage gets ossify and than it becomes harder. Since you are not having any pain etc therefore hardness due to infection and oedema is ruled out.

To confirm the diagnosis you may do X-Ray of nose in AP and Lateral views.

Thanks for consulting HCM.
