What Could Hard Stools With Contractions In Pelvic Area Suggest?

Hi. This is very embarrassing but... I think I may be constipated. I'm currently on my period and when I woke up this morning, I had extremely bad period cramps. After I used the bathroom, I realized i couldn't poop. I felt like I needed to, but every time I tried, I would get attacked by horrible contractions in my pelvic area (cramps) and it would be far too painful for me to even continue trying. This happened twice, each time after I had gone to sleep with food in my stomach. I still haven't digested what I ate, meaning I haven't pooped all day. I would really appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks in advance!
