What Could Have Caused Hard Movable Sensitive Lump Resulting Pain In Top And Side Of Rib?

Approximately 24 hours ago I began to have pain on the top of my first rib on the right side. Upon examining it, I found what looks to be bruising or blood underneath the skin. Their is a hardish type lump that is moveable and very sensitive to touch. When I move in certain directions I have pain in this area. I have not hit this area or have done anything to cause this. What possibly may this be.

Hi,

I can understand your concern for the hard movable sensitive lump resulting pain in top and side of rib. I can make a possibility of insect bite hypersensitivity or an ingrown hair in the area.

The only precaution you must follow is not to touch, pinch pop or squeeze any of them other wise it can get infected and can cause complications.

You can apply medium potency steroid cream application of fluticasone cream with an antibacterial cream such as mupirocin or fucidin cream. You can additionally take pain killer tablet such as paracetamol or diclofenac by mouth.
